First off, this mens heated hunting vest is very nice quality at an even better price point. It fits pretty good, although I did go a size up so I could layer underneath. If you are just planing on wearing the jacket alone I would go with the normal size you would wear. Waterproof you ask? The water just beads up and slides right off. To be completely honest I rarely have to turn on the heating system. The jacket is nice and warm without it but when I do turn it on it just adds that extra range of warmth and comfort. I would say stop your search now, I fully recommend this jacket.
